Panther Youngsters Show Their Stuff In WJC Tournament

Today’s music video is Catch and Release by Silversun Pickups.

The World Junior Championships began last night in Buffalo, New York and among the headliners were Florida Panther draft picks Erik Gudbranson, Quinton Howden and Nick Bjugstad.

Gudbranson scored a key goal for Team Canada as they opened up the tourney against Team Russia.  Erik’s goal, a slap shot from inside the blue line gave Team Canada a 3-2 lead during the second period.  Here’s a look at what our handsome young man had to say afterward.

Forward Quinton Howden assisted on Gudbranson’s goal, and has some nice scoring chances as well.  Team Canada which seemed to have more trouble than they should have against Team Russia prevailed with a 6-3 victory.

Nick Bjugstad however may have had the biggest impact of the trio as he scored the game winner for Team USA in overtime in a 3-2 victory over Team Finland.
