Assistant Coach Gord Murphy Has Made The PK Unit Special

Thanks to Gord Murphy the new assistant coach of the Florida Panthers, the penalty killing unit sits at fourth in the NHL as of last nights’ games.  A huge improvement over last years final ranking of 23rd overall.  With Mike Kitchen and his collapsing style of play having moved on the the Windy City, Murphy has come in and made some subtle yet effective changes.

It also helps that a couple players who weren’t here last year have done their part as well.  Center Marty Reasoner , forward Chris Higgins and defenceman Mike Weaver all new comers, but known for their penalty killing skill have certainly contributed to the unit’s success.  also, let’s not forget Radek Dvorak who’s always been one of the better killers in the league.
