This post has been updated with additional information!
A hectic day in the real world of the Rat Trick for this writer prohibits me from a typical post. Which for some of you might be a good thing as the anger and frustration was coming out of both my ears this week. So rather than try and attempt to fake my way through an article that wouldn’t be as good as I normally am (in my opinion), I thought I’d share with you some news and notes from others in related to the Panthers. Will this be a weekly thing? Maybe. Will I publish it every Friday? Maybe. Or maybe I’ll never do it again. Depends. For now here you you go:
For an updated version of the trade check out Intent To Blow. Indications of Mike Gillis not aware of what he just did. Good for a few laughs as always.
The Panthers are expecting big things from Michael Frolik as he enters his third NHL season. Coming off two consecutive years of 20 plus goals, is it possible for him to reach 30? George Richards from the Miami Herald explains.
Karl Selvig from The Hockey Writers talks about the Erik Gudbranson fiasco situation and the waiving of forward Michael Grabner who many expected to have a breakout season. Guess he’ll be breaking out in new York.
While Erik Gudbranson is gone for this season, he’s not forgotten. A noticeable missing piece in the Panthers workout the other day, Harvey Fialkov measures the pulse about a deal that couldn’t be worked out for the youngster.

Seems like there has been a bee-line to Vancouver from South Florida since the summer. In what has turned out to be the third trade between the two teams, the Panthers have traded Patch Adams to Vancouver for Sean Zimmerman. TSN reports.
Here’s a link to the opening night rosters for all 30 NHL teams from TSN.
It was a great opening night yesterday that was capped off by this highlight goal by Jordan Eberle of the Edmonton Oilers. It’s going to be a fun season!
