Thank God Training Camp Starts Soon!

Rat Trick Harmony

Happy Labor Day to everyone!  Hope you all are enjoying your long holiday weekend, which if I’m correct is the last one till Thanksgiving.  The good part about that is it means that the start of training camp is almost here.  This coming Satruday September 11th here in Florida will be known as Hockey Day In Florida.  I can tell you’re excited!

Stay tuned for details about times and practice schedules as they’ll be announced so that you know when to call in sick, skip school, and or ignore the honey do list!

Now that Kovy has signed, or actually his contract has been approved, Antti Niemi has found a home, and fantasy leagues are starting to form, here’s some posts from around the blogosphere from last week you might have missed.

A great read from Justin Bourne about why the NHL can’t void other contracts as well as some other happenings in and around the league.  Check out Bourne’s Blog every day.

Intent To Blow has a funny spin on the Kovy contract and the NHL’s approval.  What if there was something missing after the approval that allowed this drama to go on further?

Blades Of Funny has a new day he’d like to dedicate based on his recent trip to the Zoo with his kids.  Not sure if this will get any legs, but the rest of the story is up to it’s usually good humor.

One of my favourite new daily reads, and a nice acquaintance that I’ve made via the internet is The Active Stick.  Read about what she learned over the summer.

In hockey as in many sports there are “codes” that are expected to be followed.  You know those unwritten rules that everyone is expected to abide by.  Stay Classy has his own set, which he decided to come up with after his rec hockey game.

From The Rink takes a look at the top five Norris Trophy candidates for 2010-2011.  What, no Panthers?  Don’t worry, Jay Bouwmeester’s not on there either.

The Globe and Mail has a really good article on Mike Comrie, the new Mr. Duff.  Some items about Mike you may not have known.

Orland Kurtenblog explains why there won’t be another lockout in the NHL.  I can only hope they’re right!

The NHL shouldn’t be picking and choosing which contracts to make null and void.  Puck Update has some good reasons why.

A View From My Seats takes a very statistical look at what’s been happening to the power play in the NHL.  Good stuff and nice charts.

Red Light Hockey District Blog is doing a review of all 30 teams in 30 days.  Take a look, and get caught up.  Nice job.

Thanks for reading.
