NHL Rejects Kovalchuk Deal

Well this is certainly going to rattle the feathers of everyone isn’t it? Star forward Ilya Kovalchuk’s 17 year contract that he signed on Monday with the New Jersey Devils has been rejected by the NHL.  Get ready, as all day long you’re going to hear all the pros and cons of this deal, as well as some others that were signed before him.

Luongo, Hossa, Kiprusoff, DiPietro, and Pronger.  You can look them all up at Cap Geek  and see what I’m talking about.  It will be very interesting to see how this turns out, and how it will affect things at the next CBA discussion,

Also, is Los Angeles now back in the running if New Jersey and Kovy can’t reach an agreement should this deal not be approved?

For more on the story take a look at  TSN  and Eric Duhatschek  at Globe Sports for more details.

I have one thing to say as I close this post and get outta the office for the day:

Where the hell was the NHL when Uncle Jack (Jacques Martin to my newer readers) signed Rostislav Olesz to the god awful six year deal that we are stuck with?

Thanks for reading.
