As we approach the Stanley Cup Finals I thought that I would give you a taste of things to come here at The Rat Trick. I’ve been meaning to post this for some time, but haven’t had the chance, so I thought this is the right moment.
Here’s what’s on tap:
Coverage of the Finals of course, especially with my roots being in Chicago as the Blackhawks attempt to win their first Cup since 1961. I’ll be honest, living there for 31 years, it’s hard not to express my enthusiasm for them.
I am a Panther fan as well, and I’m excited about the offseason and all the potential changes that we may be seeing.
My plans are to bring you as much Panther news that I feel is relevant to you, as often as I can. The draft is approaching and the gang here at Fan Sided is doing a mock draft beginning on May 28th. Each day one of our respective bloggers will be making a pick for the team they cover, as well as some of us filling in for teams that don’t have representation yet. Who do you think the Panthers will draft?
Free Agency which starts in July. A part of the offseason that I really enjoy, and with the naming of a new General Manager for the Panthers, I’m hoping for an interesting summer. Not only covering signings by the Panthers but some of the other big name and surprising moves that other teams make.
As you have seen the site has been updated and I’m still retooling here and there. Watchout for new changes to the blogroll, which if you click opens up to links for other sites I look at almost daily. I’ll be posting polls that I’d love to see you vote on, and as always, leave comments on the various articles that you’re reading.
For those of you that have suggestions of things you’d like to see, you can email me directly at [email protected]. As I go into the second season of doing this, I would love to know what you, my readers would like to see more of. Or less of.
All of the Fansided sites are going through the update and eventually all sites will have been completed. Adam and Zach Best have done a fantastic job making the changes to all the sites in the network. Without them this doesn’t exist.
Rink Side Rants. A show that I’ve been fortunate to be a part of every Thursday for the past couple of months, appears every Thursday at 9:00 P.M. Hosted by Tim Redinger of Sabre Noise, who became a dad (again) last week, we bring you some very interesting topics of discussion. We’ll be expanding to more nights and have more Fan Sided bloggers on as well.
Lastly, and coming very soon, an endeavor that has taken shape very quickly. An NHL Main Page for our Fan sided Network. Myself and some of our best writers will be making contributions daily about all the news you should know about in the world of Hockey. As soon as we have the official launch date I’ll be sure to tell you. You’re gonna love the name!
That will do it for now. Before I sign off take a look at the first Street Hockey Party that the Panthers will be having this summer.
Thanks for reading.
