Monday Morning Reading

A busy time of the year with NHL going into the stretch drive, March Madness, Spring Training baseball and NFL Free Agency, here’s a few things you may have missed.  Or just need a different view on.

We’ll start out with a little humor from Down Goes Brown as he collaborates with Bloge Salming for a parody of a Jimmy Kimmel skit called the Awesome Leafs Club Meeting.  FUNNY!

On a serious note, Matt Cooke one of my least favorite players, who plays on MY LEAST FAVORITE TEAM, was not suspended for his cheap, stupid, and borderline dysfunctional hit on Boston’s Marc SavardPens Labrynth has his views as well.

Many NHL coaches change lines often especially when teams seem to be struggling.  Blue Line Station seems to think that Ranger coach John Tortorella uses a slot machine for his line combinations!

Bolts By The Bay refers to former Lightning coach Barry Melrose as a …..moron.

Colton Orr of the Leafs has been battling Matt Carkner of the Senators all year.  Editor In Leaf has all four battles for your viewing pleasure.

A disgruntled or attention needing Red Wings sport’s writer seems to think the Chicago Blackhawks 25 year tradition of cheering during the National Anthem is unpatriotic.  Are you F-in kidding me?  It’s the best start to a game you will EVER experience.  BlackhawkUp tells said reporter to think again.  Nice Job Jeff.

Joe Pavelski scored a very Denis Savardeske goal the other night.  Blades of Teal has the highlight.

The Notwithstanding Clause wonders why the Montreal Canadians make things go difficult.  Check out the photo!

Former goalie Kevin Weekes writes a nice piece about protecting players from themselves.

Scott Morrison talks about the NHL taking a step forward with shots to the head.  Finally.

In other sports around Fansided:

Nomar is back with the Red Sox.  I thought he retired?!  BoSox Injection tells us otherwise.

Manager Jim Leyland lays down some rules for his Tigers.  Motor City Bengals reports.

Kings of Kaufman has a story on former Royal Mike Sweeney retiring.

The Smoking Cuban talks about the Dallas Mavericks and their 13 game winning streak.

Pippen Aint Easy has video of Scottie Pippen on Jay Leno talking about the Bulls in their hey day.

PhinPhanatic wants the Miami Dolphins to take a run at getting Brandon Marshall.

Thanks for reading.

Have a great week.
