Hagman & Kessel Lead Leafs Over Panthers

The Florida Panthers unable to hold onto leads at three different points in the game dropped one at home to the struggling Toronto Maple Leafs by a score of 6-4.  I wasn’t able to attend or watch this game as playoff high school football took precedent of my Friday night, so making any comments or passing any judgement by me isn’t going to happen.

The Panthers opened the scoring and took a quick 2-0 lead in the opening two minutes on goals by Radek Dvorak and Michael Frolik.  The Leafs however quickly tied it up and the Panthers realized they had a hockey game going on.  The Panthers had leads at three different points during the game, 2-0, 3-2 and 4-3, but could not hold them as the Leafs never gave up and kept coming back at them.

Led by former Panther Niklas Hagman’s two goals, one of which was the game winner and two goals by Phil Kessel, the Leafs did what they have been doing most of the season, playing hard and not giving up.  The difference in this one is that Toronto buried it’s chances and the Panthers didn’t.

Here’s the Miami Herald’s coverage of the game.

Here’s how The Toronto Sun saw it.

Finally here’s TSN’s coverage.

Next up for the Panthers, a road game against one of the hottest teams in the NHL, The Nashville Predators tonight.

Preview coming later today.

Thanks for reading.

Cheers
