Last Minute Notes and Thoughts

Hmmm…  A few things to ponder before game time.  News out of Pantherland is that coach Peter DeBoer is pretty satisfied with the play of rookie defenceman Dmitry Kulikov.  Here’s what he had to say this morning:

Coach Pete DeBoer said today that if Kulikov keeps up what he’s doing ”I don’t know how we can send him anywhere.”

”He has to keep doing what he’s been doing,” DeBoer said. ”He’s had one tough game. He’s been pretty steady and is getting more and more confident. He needs to find a way to get his shot to the net, put pucks at the net, but that’s going to come.

”You guys saw Stamko’s development last year; this doesn’t happen overnight. I think Hedman who is here is a little bit of a different story. He’s hit the ground running. But it’s tough for young defensemen. [Kulikov] is playing 18 minutes a night which is a great number for a young guy. He’s contributing.

”If that continues, I don’t know how we can send him anywhere.”

Dominic Moore still is not here, or in Tampa.  Might be ready by Friday against the Flyers.  I still say he needs to contact my immigration attorney friend!  This is nuts!

Looks like Vokoun gets the start again tonight as Scott Clemmensen has returned to the team after some family issues, however needs some additional practice time.

If you’re in South Florida, the only way you get to watch tonight’s fiasco game is if you have NHL Centre ICE.  Unless of course you have a link to something on the internet.
