In a battle of mascots SouthEast Division Rivals the Carolina Hurricanes host the Florida Panthers tonight at the RBC Center.  This will be the Panthers first game in almost a week after the trip to Helsinki Finland where they split two games with the Chicago Blackhawks.

Tomas Vokoun will get the start tonight in goal and most likely will face the Hurricanes Cam Ward.  The Panthers are hoping that recently signed center Dominic Moore will have his visa issues resolved in time to play in tonight’s game.  Moore who hasn’t been able to practice with the club yet will be in the lineup if everything is cleared according to head coach Peter DeBoer.

Stephen Reinprecht was hit on the foot in wednesday’s practice, left early and was taken for x-rays which were negative.  Reinprecht is expected to play tonight.

Caroline is coming off a shootout victory (2-1) ove the Tampa Bay Lightning Tuesday night.  Jussi Jokinen scored their goal during regulation and former Blackhawk Tuomo Ruutu scored the winner in the shootout.

Carolina’s RBC Center has not been a friendly building to the Panthers recently.  They are 2-15 against the Hurricanes since February 2004.  The Hurricanes have usually prevented the Panthers from getting into a playoff spot, and Florida has lost many a lead in this building.

Tonight however, the Florida Panthers look to change that.

For a little motivation we turn to Eric Cartman.  Eric what say you?:

Thanks for reading.
