Both teams began their season over in Europe with St. Louis winning both games against the Detroit Red Wings, and as we know the Panthers split their games against the Chicago Blackhawks. It’s been pretty much downhill for both clubs since then as the Blues are 5-5-1, and the Panthers are 3-7-1 for their respective seasons.
St. Louis is having trouble winning at home this year as they are 1-4 so far after going 23-13-5 last season. Big reason for that is that their power play on home ice is 0-21!

The Stars who missed the playoffs last season due to a rash of injuries are intent on getting back in the playoff hunt this year. Some significant front office changes were made as Joe Nieuwendyk was brought in as general manager. Also a surprising move, Dave Tippett was replaced by Marc Crawford, who seems to continue getting coaching gigs.
