Just learned this afternoon that number one pick Dmitry Kulikov has been signed by the Florida Panthers, thus ending the drama and speculation that he was headed back to juniors. It will be interesting to see how long he stays with the Panthers, however apparently he has made a big enough impression on head coach Peter DeBoer that he appears to be willing to give him some more time with the big club.

Tomorrow the Panthers will take on Jokerit in their final preseason game before opening the 2009-2010 season against (my other team) the Chicago Blackhawks.
