Like the ugly duckling at school who never gets asked to dance, like the worst player in your gym class who never gets picked to be on the team, the Florida Panthers have lost out on another free agent. Alex Tanguay has reportedly signed a one year deal with the Tampa Bay Lightning pending passing a physical. The deal has been reported to be for one year at $2.5 million. Beginning to wonder why the Florida Panthers can’t attract any quality or high profile players? Or why they can’t seem to hire a full-time general manager?
Let me shed some light on the [...]

Why Does Everyone Say No to Us?
Saturday Song of the Week
A band out of Los Angeles, The Airborne Toxic Event has been populating the airwaves with it’s hit single “Sometime Around Midnight”. A song that you should definitely take a listen to, especially the acoustic version. Led by lead vocalist Mikel Jollet these guys and gal (Anna Bullbrook on violin and keyboards), have enjoyed some recent success.
There’s definitely passion in their music and in Jollet’s voice. Here’s “Innocence’. Enjoy!

Thanks for listening. Enjoy the weekend!
Recent Notes and Observations
Good day all! Sorry but I have been away on business all week and have had very little time, or access to a computer or even the internet. Things will be back on track quickly though.
Just thought that I would post some notes of things going on in Pantherland that may generate some comments from you, my loyal readers.
Brutal Preseason Schedule: Has anyone taken a real look at that thing? Yikes! Just as nasty as last year. Also, doesn’t help to have the first two games of the year in Finland against the Chicago Blackhawks. It could be 0-2 right [...]
It Starts With Goaltending
In order for the Florida Panthers to have any success this season, they are going to have to get superb goaltending from both Tomas Vokoun and Scott Clemmensen. Offense wins during the season, and defense wins championships as the phrase goes, but for the Panthers, their defense has been their best offense.
Scoring goals this season is going to be a struggle, therefore with a revamped set of defensemen, keeping the puck out of the net will be crucial.
In a very telling article recently by Miami Herald Reporter George Richards, he spoke with Vokoun who is starting his training a month [...]
Saturday Song of the Week
This segment will be posted every Saturday Morning. It’s not related to hockey, but I love music. So to kind of add some flavor I will post my ” Saturday Song of the Week” every Saturday. It could be something new, something old, or something in between.
My favorite musician is Bruce Springsteen and that’s who I’m going to start with. Take a look at this video of Spirit in the Night from a live performance in Barcelona Spain, October 2002. At about 4 minutes he forgets the words!!!
I picked this one to start with because first, [...]
THN Predicts 12th in Conference!
Earlier this week I was on the Hockey News website and read that the annual yearbook was soon to be on it’s way to all subscribers. I eagerly would come home from work anxious to get “the mail” and see if it was in the box. Kind of like waiting for that present coming from that out of town relative that you used to get every year! Sure enough, in Thursday’s mail was the 2009-2010 edition of the Hockey News Yearbook!
MY BIBLE HAD ARRIVED!
I quickly opened it up and immediately went to the Florida Panthers section to see the prediction, [...]
